Not a runner? That's OK. Don't live in Nashville? That's OK too.
As a HERO, you get active and engaged, asking your friends, family, and anyone around you to help students in Nairobi achieve an education by donating money. We’ll give you helpful ideas, information and everything you need to get the people around you motivated to help you put kids in school together.
And of course, there are some great benefits to being a HERO:
• You’ll get into the race FREE!
• You get a cool HEROES T-SHIRT once you receive your second donation (your registration fee counts as your first)!
• You can WIN AWESOME PRIZES by being one of the top Kid Hero fundraisers or by winning the adult hero drawing!
Ok, so what do I do?
1. Complete the Hero Registration that follows and select a fundraising goal.
$29 pays a teacher's salary for a day
$161 feeds a student every school day for a year
$362 sends one class on an educational field trip
$722 buys literature, workbooks, and teacher references for one grade
$1627 provides internet service for a school year
2. Kick off your fundraising efforts with a personal donation of $29.
3. We'll mail you a packet of information and send emails that will help you get started and stay motivated on your fundraising race. You'll also get your own online login page to keep track of your progress.
4. We'll mail you your HEROES T-Shirt once we receive your second donation. (This t-shirt is in addition to the race shirt you will receive if you run the race)
That's it. Pretty simple. Commit to helping a few kids, ask the people around you to donate, get an awesome t-shirt, have a chance to win cool prizes - and know that you've helped kids in Africa go to school so they can get out of the slums.
